holding’s value, its income over the last twelve months, or its rate of return.
Trac ships a catalog of built-in statistics, and you can also define your
own custom statistics with a formula. This page covers what statistics are,
how to manage the catalog, how to add or edit a custom one, and how statistics
show up around the app.

Reports

A report is a customisable table that pulls together your portfolio data
into rows and columns you control. Rows decide what each line is about — a
group of holdings, a set of transactions, a category — and columns decide
how each line is measured — a current value, a statistic, a sum of
transactions, or a formula that combines other columns. Trac ships a set of
built-in reports (such as a balance sheet) and lets you build and save your
own. This page covers how to find reports, open one, add and edit rows and
columns, read the output, and the controls available while you work.

Explorer

The Explorer is a spreadsheet-style data grid for browsing, filtering, and
bulk-editing your portfolio data in one place. Instead of opening holdings one
at a time, you pick a type of data to view, narrow it with filters, choose the
columns you care about, and then read, edit, or export the whole table at once.

Explorer is built from the data you’ve already entered — your holdings, owners,
price updates, files, and accounting activity — so it reflects whatever is in
your portfolio right now. See
Adding Your Data for how that data
gets in.

Cash Planning

Cash Planning answers one question: will there be enough cash, in the right
account, when it’s needed? It holds 24 months of month-end cash balances — the
last twelve as they actually happened, and the next twelve as Trac projects them
— for every cash account in the household, grouped under the entity that owns
it. The page opens on the current month and the eleven ahead of it, and the
history is one tap away whenever you want to check the forecast against it. From
there you can open any month to see the individual flows behind it, correct a
projection Trac got wrong, add an expected payment it couldn’t know about, and
export the whole picture.

Targets

A target is a goal you set against a number Trac already computes for you —
“$500 of income a month from this fund”, “keep fees under $20,000 this year”,
“land within 10% of a 12% IRR”. You pick the number to measure, say which part
of the portfolio it applies to, and give it a value and a date. From then on
Trac compares the real number against your goal and tells you where you stand:
On Track, At Risk, Pass or Miss.
